Le concours World Press Photo récompense les professionnels pour les meilleurs clichés destinés à la presse depuis 1955. Pour cette 63e édition, 73 996 photographies ont été soumises par 4 282 photographes venant de 125 pays.
Dans la catégorie « Environnement », c’est la photographe du New York Times Esther Horvath qui a reçu le premier prix pour Ours polaire et son ourson.
